EVBox – Managing Hypergrowth
Joeri Kamp, VP Everon and Piotr Krzepczak, Senior Architect & Head of Software Development
We are EVBox and Everon. Our mission is to drive sustainable mobility, by bringing scalable and future-proof electric vehicle charging solutions to the world. Everon is the leading platform for managing stations and charging services for EV-drivers on a global level, available in 20 languages and already used in 30 countries.
Given the expected growth in the market EVBox decided to spin-off Everon in a separate company and speed up the platform development. In the last 9 months the Everon team grew from 20 to 100 employees, with already more than 60 developers growing towards 16 scrum teams beginning of next year and Everon will launch as a separate company per October 1.
But how to manage this hypergrowth in development and how to make sure scaling will be done effective? Everon works together with SIG to monitor the evolution of the platform to secure the code-quality during this growth. The Everon team will give insights in the challenges in this journey, how the code base reflects organisational structure, how to plan, to prepare and to manage this growth from the technology side and how to manage technical debt during this growth.
Eurobank – Change management required to build a Digital Factory
Spyros Bethanis, Digital Channels Systems Division Manager
In 2016 Eurobank, a large bank in Greece, decided to invest in building a new and with a potentially global reach digital banking platform. In order to succeed, they were seeking for partners, not just the workforce or helping hands. Along with major implementers, SIG came to the mix and all together tried to fullfiil the bank’s vision.
Facing a set of challenges at technical as well as management level, the bank had to perform an internal disruption by setting new standards for a high performing team. They applied a new agile development process, incorporated the freedom of selecting new technologies, implemented a revolutionary architecture in the sector, and made innovative changes on the infrastructure and their pipeline. All that while having many parties and stakeholders who had to be coordinated. But can this work? This presentation will take you from theory to practice and how culture played the most important role in this journey.
DSO – Secure software development in the DSO program
Bas Crompvoets, Domeinarchitect Beveiliging en Privacy
The Digitaal Stelsel Omgevingswet (DSO) is a complex system of ICT Services to support the Dutch Omgevingswet. At least 48 laws are a part of this Omgevingswet and it’s one of the largest legislative operations after WO II. The Omgevingswet goals can only be achieved if there is a digital system at place.
Security of the system is just one of the challenges the DSO program is facing. The program has to be enrolled on January 1, 2021. The development of DSO is covered by multiple partners, like Rijkswaterstaat, in a large scale agile program of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. Availability of expertise and tooling are also challenging for DSO, besides security.
During the break-out session, Bas Crompvoets will explain how the chosen growth model will finally result in a development process Display and how security is well integrated.
