AMSTERDAM, June 22, 2022 – Software Improvement Group (SIG), the independent global leading institute in analyzing software and software assurance, has announced the winners of its fourth annual client awards recognizing the exceptional leadership, vision, and results demonstrated by organizations in gaining control over the build quality, maintainability, and security of their application landscapes.

The winners were announced during the 2022 SIG Symposium, where visionary thinkers and digital leaders came together virtually and at the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam to discuss digital transformation on the strength of healthy software.

SIG presented Albert Heijn, IND, and Ministerie van Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport with awards in two categories:

INDUSTRY PIONEER 2022
This award is presented to the client with the most integrated software quality application, thereby serving as an example for its industry.

Winner: Albert Heijn
Albert Heijn, the largest supermarket chain in the Netherlands, has made software quality central to their development process. This transformative shift has been especially challenging with the change in people’s buying habits and supply chains. Development has been able to rapidly adapt technology to meet changing customer needs and deliver new features to market quickly.

MASTER OF SOFTWARE HEALTH 2022
This year, the award is presented to two clients who have implemented a structure across its organization facilitating high-quality source code development and cultivating awareness around the health of its applications.

Winner: IND
The Immigration and Naturalisation Service, a branch of the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security, has improved the health of its application landscape and the build quality of its software using Sigrid®. The CIO successfully installed a software department that brings software transparency to the development process, bridging the gap between developers and leadership, from bits to boardroom.

Winner: Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport
Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport excelled in being able to meet the changing needs of its citizens by developing new features capable of handling very private and sensitive data. SIG was able to help by advising on software quality and best practices to ensure Covid-19 related apps were built to the highest quality and security standards.
