The partnership facilitates the development of applications that require less maintenance, reducing technical debt
Boston and Atlanta – December 17, 2019 – OutSystems, provider of the number one platform for lowcode rapid application development, today announced a partnership with Software Improvement Group (SIG), the global leader in software assurance. Now OutSystems customers will be able to use leading software assurance solutions from SIG to manage the quality and security of newly developed software and its architecture while dramatically shortening the time to market.
Agile development, DevOps, and CI/CD enable organizations to quickly publish and deliver modern applications. But ever-accelerating timelines for new apps or new layers of functionality make it difficult to balance the quality of delivery with speed. The Consortium for IT Software Quality reported that the cost of poor quality software in the US in 2018 was approximately $2.84 trillion.(1)
The OutSystems and SIG partnership will enable customers to deliver high-quality, secure applications and features to meet today’s accelerated timelines. Using the SIG software assurance platform, Sigrid®, OutSystems customers gain access to fact-based measurements of the maintainability and security of their applications, augmented with recommended actions from the SIG experts. This deep source code visibility, in turn, allows them to substantially reduce maintenance costs and resolve bugs much faster.

Partnership faciliteert app-ontwikkeling met minder onderhoud en vermindert technical debt
Utrecht, 17 december 2019 – OutSystems, leverancier van hét platform voor low-code-applicatieontwikkeling, gaat samenwerken met Software Improvement Group (SIG), leider op het gebied van software assurance. Nu kunnen OutSystems-gebruikers, door middel van een zeer veilige, technische integratie, de kwaliteit en veiligheid van nieuwe software structureel meten en verbeteren en vergelijken met de SIG-benchmark. SIG past hierbij de ISO 25010-standaard toe. Met het Sigrid® software assurance platform van het van oorsprong Nederlandse SIG, krijgen OutSystems-gebruikers toegang tot feitelijke metingen van de onderhoudsvriendelijkheid en veiligheid van applicaties van binnenuit, versterkt met aanbevolen acties van SIG’s software engineering experts. Deze inzichten in de broncode bieden ontwikkelaars en architecten de mogelijkheid sneller bugs op te lossen, de onderhoudskosten te verlagen en daarmee de time to market significant te verkorten.
Snelheid versus kwaliteit
Agile ontwikkeling, DevOps en CI/CD stellen organisaties in staat snel moderne applicaties op de markt te brengen. Maar de snelheid waarmee nieuwe apps of nieuwe functionaliteiten ontwikkeld dienen te worden maakt het lastig om de balans tussen kwaliteit en snelheid te bewaren. Het Consortium for IT Software Quality rapporteerde dat de kosten van kwalitatief slechte software in de Verenigde Staten in 2018 op ongeveer $2,84 miljard worden geschat.
